FLiP Youth Report 2026

Financial literacy has become a crucial issue for the future of many young people in Austria. The current Youth Report 2026, prepared jointly with the social enterprise YEPworks and the Financial Life Park (FLiP), paints a clear picture: young people are deeply engaged with money – but often feel inadequately prepared and experience the financial world as increasingly complex. This makes structurally embedded and widespread educational offerings that make financial knowledge practical, easily accessible, and available to all even more important.

FLiP Youth Report 2024

According to the Alpenländischer Kreditorenverband, the number of personal insolvencies among under-24-year-olds rose by 22 percent in 2023. Youth debt and responsible financial planning are also key focuses of the national financial literacy strategy for the next two years. The latest representative youth study by the social enterprise YEP, in collaboration with the Erste Financial Life Park (FLiP), shows that Austrian youth themselves see a need for action in this area.

FLiP Youth Report 2022

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Erste Financial Life Park, FLiP commissioned a representative study with YEP – Stimme der Jugend (Association for Youth Participation, Social Involvement, and Empowerment) to explore what the future of financial literacy should look like, and what young people expect and hope for.

As part of the study, 120 young people worked on this topic in workshops and created questions for the quantitative online survey, in which 800 people between the ages of 14 and 20 took part.
